Outing IV: Singapore Arts Festival – Fireworks Display

Posted in Outings with tags , , , on May 18, 2009 by Ryan

Date: 13 June, Saturday

Event Start Time: 8.00pm

Venue: Yishun Open Field behind Yishun Bus Interchange, Yishun Central 1 [Click here for location map]

Meeting Time/Venue: 6.45pm @ Yishun Bus Interchange (Newstand nearer to Northpoint)

Theme: 45 mins of Fireworks Extravaganza

Sypnosis:

An invitation to be brave…

The world is full of risks to be avoided. The economy is collapsing, the climate is changing and fireworks are too loud. YET, life is to be lived, and revealing its beauty requires a risk and venturing into the unkown.

Crackers? is a celebration of the explosive and dangerous beauty of fire and fireworks and an exploration of our attitudes to Risk.

Not for the fainthearted, Crackers? combines fireworks, projection, performance and music. Performed ‘in the round’, with the audience surrounded by fire & smoke, spinning wheels and fireworks. A symphony of pyrotechnic sounds fills the air. It’s loud, disorientating and cacophonous, but there are moments of delicate and profound beauty…dancing flames, giant Catherine Wheels and the ‘human sparkler’…

What to bring:

  • Black Card or any black non-reflection material (Hint: Can DIY.)
  • Remote Shutter Release (Wired or Wireless)
  • Tripod
  • Fast Ultra Wide Angle Lenses (Recommended fixed aperture at f/2.8 or bigger)
  • Weather Covers (In case of bad weather)
  • Earplugs (It’s going to be LOUD as we are surrounded by fire & pyrotechnics)

Interest List:

  1. RyanG
  2. ramian
  3. JPLim
  4. minzhui

Note:

This outing is open to all photographers including non-450D members.

We will go for the event accordingly to majority of which day has the most number of available photographers.

Interested photographers, please kindly indicate your interest by PM RyanG in Clubsnap or leave a trace at the comments box. Thank you.
